Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.

The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Claims Shared on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Currently Not on File

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.

Player's Prior Legal Issues

The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.

Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
